Darlington Arts Center, in Garnet Valley, invites the community to their annual Back to School Arts Party on Saturday, September 29 from 6-8 p.m. The free event marks the fortieth year of Darlington Arts Center as a vital connection point and teaching institution for the arts. Included during the evening will be displays of artwork from Darlington Teaching Artists and students augmented by music performances. Attendees have opportunities to utilize their artistic skills and participate in collaborative art projects along with creating their own unique work of art. The Back to School Arts Party offers a relaxed environment to honor the arts while bringing the community together

A Teaching Artist recital and art gallery exhibit featuring a variety of musical performances and works on display will highlight the evening. Musical performers scheduled are Duo Festivo, Kevin Cope, and Geri Smith. Visual artists displaying work include Rebecca D’Angeli, Erika Matyok, Diana Stevenson, and Darlington students. Guests are encouraged to explore Darlington’s facilities, meet the teaching artists, enjoy food and drink, and be a part of the center’s collaborative community art project. Teachers and volunteers will help guide participants through creating individual pieces that will be assembled and unveiled as the event finale.
